Deception Point.. The Ultimate Deception!

Space, Universe, extraterrestrial life, all such things has always been interesting things in every individual’s life. From step on Moon to new planet in the universe, all this discoveries has affected our life. All this has been possible because of NASA and its space discovery. It’s a well renowned space research agency in United States of America (USA).

What if NASA makes an exceptional discovery, what if this discovery will affect the Presidential Election of United States, what if this discovery will put life of 3 scientist in danger, what if this discovery is fake, what if this discovery is planned, what if this discovery is deception.. The answer to such question is in book name Deception Point by Dan Brown.

Rachel Sexton works for the NRO (National Reconnaissance Office) who reports to president about the activity by the other government agency. She is also the daughter of leading Presidential nominee Senator Sedgewick Sexton. Senator Sexton is against NASA funding and of the view that those fund needs to be invested in education rather than in NASA’s failure. He also takes illegal funding from Space Frontier Foundation (Private space agency). Rachel is suddenly called by President Zachary Herney with other civilian scientists to confirm the authenticity of a discovery in Milne Ice Shelf. The other civilian scientists are Michael Tolland, Corky Marlinson and some other scientist (who are in the story for short period of time). NASA discovers a Meteorite under Milne Ice Shelf containing fossils of extraterrestrial life. The discovery is made public after getting the confirmation from civilian scientist, but shortly after confirming the data Rachel finds out that the Meteorite is not natural, it has been restored by someone. Suddenly Rachel, Michael & Corky are attacked by Delta Force when they discovered that finding was fake & planned.

Delta Force’s attempt to kill 3 of them failed. Rachel & team ask NRO director for their help in this scenario. They go to Michael’s ship name “Goya” to find out about the verification of Meteorite. But they are still followed by Delta Force, whose mission is to kill them. The NASA administrator Lawrence & President Henry are unaware of fake meteorite. All they knew is that it has been discovered by Canadian scientist & they got coordinates thru Radio transmit. NASA pretended to discover the meteorite. Rachel asks her dad for the help but the glory to be the President of United States taken over the Senator Sexton’s mind. The mastermind behind fake meteorite believed that scarifies of few will save the life of many. What happens next is suspense; you have to read book for that.

The deception is completely deceiving till the time when the culprit decides to come ahead and accept that all is done to save the NASA from Private sector, and only way to do is thru fake meteorite.

The book is techno-thrill with lot of technical language & funda’s. Many scientific stuff and words are used but as and when you read the book you will come to know about the plot. The story is exciting with lot of suspense unfolds at there own space. The best part is it holds you till the end of the story. The suspense in the end is unpredictable. The book is narrated by different people in different situation. Those who like suspense & are ready to read big books will really enjoy Deception point.

In nutshell, nice book with many twist & turn. It builds the excitement from the beginning. The mastermind planning to save NASA from Senator Sexton could have been avoided by simply believing in truth. The dignity of a person can’t die with the accusations from the others.

  1. Dan Brown¿s novel Deception Point is a masterfully written thriller. It is a mix of science, politics, and up to date military techniques. The controversy between science and the upcoming Presidential election creates a unique of topics and keeps the reader interested. Dan Brown is one of my favorite authors. He has written other works such as Angels & Demons, Digital Fortress, and The Da Vinci Code, which was a New York Times bestselling novel. He includes topics that are still very involved in the world now and that most people are interested.
