Getting Rid of Writer’s block

So it was a while since I last wrote a blog.. And that’s because I was going through what everyone calls it ‘writer’s block‘. Since I had no topic in mind to write about, I thought why not I wrote about ‘Writer’s block’. I know it looks lame, but it is something which needs attention. And I wanted to write something to get rid of this block so why not this..!!! After writing this blog (but not posting it, I started writing more and now I want to share what I had experienced, so here it comes..)

What is this so called writer’s block? How this happens? Ways to get rid of??? Normally I do Google to find the answer, but this time I wanted my brain to work out the answers. Writer’s block in simple word is not writing anything and whatever you write you feel wrong or unsure about it. This happens due to many reasons like preoccupied mind, a negative feeling about writing or topic, no passion for writing, too many things happening, busy life, thoughtless mind, frustrated life and many more (couldn’t think beyond these..). In my case this block was because I did not feel inspired by anything or anyone for many days. Nothing in life has moved me or made me think in different ways. The same usual topic came to my mind and it was time to move ahead in a new direction. With not knowing where to move, obviously a person will feel stuck. There are many ways to get rid of the situation and I did try some of them.

People suggest that travel is the best medicine for anything either it’s sadness, feeling of lost or any other problem. Though travelling was fun and I enjoyed every bit of it, but somehow it didn’t help me push myself into writing. During travel nothing came to my mind, for which I thought of writing Whether it’s culture, destination, experience or even basic information. Nada! Not a single word on paper on life’s experience..

Another method is read. Read news or column or novel. By reading someone else’s work, you might feel like putting down your words. Novels, self improvement book, biography.. Read all, again failure stuck me. Normally I write reviews of books I read and believe me, I read 2-3 books at a go and wrote not a single word about it. Reading was more of occupying my mind for a while, but brains stopped to see different perspective or even give a thought to a new idea.

In the list of failed attempt next one is watching movies and documentaries to feel inspired about the stories or history or whatever you see. Honestly, this hardly inspired me into writing. All I do after watching a movie was becoming a critic who just talking (or comment on Facebook), but never writing a blog.

How can I forget ‘music‘ in things which inspire people.. Listening to music, connect with the singer or lyrics and feel inspired. What music did for me is either lift my mood to dance or sulk and agree with the breakup song (without having a breakup in life). There are obviously other rubbish song which means nothing. And another lot is inspirational, but they make you do something else like travelling or eating or try a sport rather than writing.

Moving on.. The last thing which I believed might work is writing rubbish. As someone might have said somewhere, “In the dust and junk, you will come across the treasure which is not visible to the naked eye. And that’s where you will find what you hoped never to find it.” If we ignore the junk of our life or dust of our past, we might find a treasure in the present. If we sort the junk and clean our dust, we might find treasure in it. Clean mind or positive mind brings the clean thought and that universal positive energy. With this energy, writing will be a very simple job, I doubt about the quality, but at least it will get you going.
Ultimately, it’s the journey which counts and not the destination.
When in trouble or lost in the dust, it is better to start cleaning. A place brings a vibe with it and our body moves with the vibe around us. It is better to multiply positivity than to encourage negativity.
In a nutshell, this was my journey and my way to start writing or rather push myself into writing more. After all these attempts, this blog is the first result and I started writing more and more, till I again came to the same point and thought of posting this to push myself again.
Honestly, I don’t feel bad about what I wrote so far about writer’s block and getting rid of writer’s block to get rid of my writer’s block.

It worked in the past, hoping that it might work again.
