Voices in Our Life…!!!
We all have that tiny voice in our head, which keeps interrupting our lives, especially when we are stuck somewhere. Many times this voice is created by people around us. The path we take, the choices we make are all because of the influence of others. There has never been a time when our decision was our own. Whether it is pursuing an education or work choice, these choices have always been the consequences of something happened in your life.
Do we ever make or choose something of our own? There have been movies, books, video.. All talk about only one thing, Listen to your heart! But does it ever make noise? Does it ever make it possible for us to know? That is because there is never a heart which makes the decision. It has always been our head who does the work. Some dude in some ages has created a story about heart, saying the right and brain conflicting it, but the reality is it is all created by our own brain only. The heart is a creation of our own mind. Our mind has always been in conflict due to which we are tied up in two choices and we tag it as a choice between mind and heart. Keeping this heart and head aside, there is also a factor of the heads of many heads around us.
Either it is our parents, our friends or their friends or some long lost relative or close relative, all have a say in everything. All seems to know about many things. Their experience will be talking this, or experience of someone they know in their life. A single top will have perspective of millions head. These million heads are affecting a single head. A life if a single person is under pressure of millions. These many things is what create two mind in our poor solo mind.
Let’s say you will stop listening to do and pursue what you want to do, and that is when the most difficult question will come. What exactly you want to do? What your parents said? What your friend thinks is right? What is appropriate for society? Or you will defy the society and venture on your own path. For a few, these choices have been easy, some have no choice and rest of us, who have a choice are afraid to take that choice. I can do what robots do, but at the same time I want freedom. I want to live free, but I don’t want to live alone. I want to work, but not start my business. These are not conflicts of heart and head. These are conflicting inside our head. A choice between what you should do and what you are supposed to do. You are supposed to work which follows orders, but you should be leading your own work. So far, I have never seen any organisation offering that freedom to their employee. Then why not start your own, but again, the conflict is can I start? How will I survive? What about monthly cheque which I received from my job? What about the weekends I get off.
Even after all that questions are answered and you mentally prepare yourself for starting your business, the most difficult part comes here: that is what I will do and how that will be a profit yielding business. Any idea a person get, 90% of times, it will be already in existence. Even Facebook was stealing ideas of Orkut, instagram was inspired by Timblr. This being said, there are business which is one of a kind, market leader, who have set the different thread. Myspace, Microsoft, foursquare are few examples of market leader. Coming back to our two minds, the most difficult choice is what we really want to do and are we strong enough to support that idea. Millions of people’s reaction will be ‘no’. If we start listening to people, our idea will always and will be remain an idea. You can’t just ignore people talking because there may lie a truth which we overlooked.
After going through all these phases, our mind is still under conflict of what exactly we should be doing and how to go about it. Whether it financial help or general, we will go and talk to people and we will discourage by even those who will be helping us. A lesson is always learnt in negative ways, our supports won’t give us jazzy pictures, they won’t tell us happy story of success. It will be hard, it will be difficult, it will be you who will be doing it. Help may come, but we can’t rely on that.
Choice is ours, millions things will come in our mind to over take the set backs, tons of ideas will come from, how to start, hundreds of questions will keep emerging, the mind will be racing with not just one but many ideas and thoughts and confusions and questions… simple way is never an easy way. Just calm yourself and pen down everything. Choose what is feasible. Put your mind on the single track and once you do, just follow that track.
Ours is the most difficult and most challenging whereas the following is as difficult as ours. Our mind needs to accept either of the two and make it genuinely ours. Head has many things to talk about, it gets easier if we tell them where go head and tell us that all is never an answer.
