Hello Mr. J
Mr. J very popular amongst all generation. You must be wondering who is or what is Mr. J.. It’s none other than Jealousy. Why he is having a better job than me, why is she married to rich guy, why they go on holiday and we don’t.. There are so many sentences like this running in our mind everyday. These thoughts cross our mind all the time. What we do when Mr. J runs in our mind, we follow him around.
Mr. J is so impressive that we fall in his trap everytime. He come, he concurred and he came again. Mr. J comes especially when we want something and we don’t get or when we lose or fail, or when we chase and realise we are no longer in the race.
Jealousy is normal human tendency. It is just a emotion like happy or sad. Many people take jealousy as stepping stone, more like motivation to do better than someone. If he can buy sedan than I will buy SUV. If he has 2BHK flat than I will buy 3BHK. This kind of motivation is good but people forget in jealousy that you cant spread your legs more than the space which is available. In Hindi, “Chaddar jitne ho utne he parr failane chachiye”.
Just like yin & yang, jealousy also has bad side. It drags us in darkness. It lowers our self esteem, it crashes our confidence and lead us to feel looser or failure. Some people flaunt their success to evoke Mr. J in people and some people are just good that people get jealous. There is not a single person on this earth who don’t feel jealous. But I don’t understand why it happens. Why we always compare ourselves with others, why we see and regret what we don’t have, why we think we should get better than others, why we have weakness which leads to we loosing. I guess it’s just genetic, our knowledge our potential our attitude.. Or all this is in our hand we don’t just realise?
We fails to see what we are good at, or fail to realise what we have others don’t, or it’s just that we believe what we have is not good enough. Maybe sometime others might be having better than us but that is not his/her fault. It’s our self-esteem or our own confidence which let us down and make us see what we don’t have.
It’s time that we put no entry for Mr. J, he came, he destroyed and he went away. Now it’s time that we bring some change, “he came, he tried and we succeed.”
